Engineering & Water Resources, Inc.

Engineering & Water Resources, Inc. (EWR) was established in June 2000 by Brian R. McMahon, P.E. We are registered with the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation to provide engineering services and are located in Stuart, Martin County, Florida. During its first four years of operation, EWR operated as a client of the Indian River Community College’s High Technology Small Business Incubator. The incubator program provided inexpensive office space, office furniture, high speed internet access and training in numerous aspects of business management to encourage the development of entrepreneurial high technology businesses. We were the program’s most successful client, having grown to a staff of eight people and earning over $1,000,000 per year. Currently EWR has four registered professional engineers practicing civil, environmental, ocean, water resource and agricultural engineering. Our client list has typically included commercial and residential land developers, golf course and landscape architects, dairies, the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, municipalities, equestrian operations, water and waste water utilities, agricultural producers and special taxing districts.

In June 2004 EWR purchased a new 4300 square foot office building located in Martin County’s Treasure Coast Commerce Park. The new facility is designed to comfortably support four computer-aided drafting technicians, nine engineering professionals and two support staff; a total of 15 employees. In concert with the corporate vision to quickly and efficiently serve our clients, the facility is equipped with a full T-1 internet access line, “Voice over IP” voice and data communications, gigabyte technology local area network, redundant file backup systems, multi-function computer peripherals at every work station and electronic drafting/printing equipment. Recent advancements in hardware and software for electronic communication have inspired an entire new paradigm for the development and expression of information and ideas. We are at the threshold of a technology that will allow high-speed, efficient interchange between people at remote locations. This will allow firms, such as Engineering and Water Resources, to expand effective geographic markets, enhance delivery of services and extend their professional's capability to gather, assimilate, create and communicate information vital to the development, protection and utilization of our resources with unprecedented accuracy, clarity and speed.
