Project Description
Since 1998, the principals of Engineering & Water Resources, Inc. have served as the engineer of record for planning, design, permitting, bidding and construction phase services for The Bear's Club, a beautiful 370-acre Jack Nicklaus designed golf course and residential community. This has involved master planning, site/civil engineering, transportation engineering, and sewer and water utility design services.
The budget for the total civil engineering site improvements for The Bear's Club clubhouse and golf course improvements was over $5.5 million. The improvements included over 20,000 linear feet of storm drainage piping from 15" to 54" diameter, 23,400 linear feet of 8" and 12" water mains, 13,200 linear feet of 8" gravity sewer mains, 10,300 linear feet of 4" and 6" sewer force mains, five wastewater pump stations, and 4,800 linear feet of 8" reuse (IQ) main. In addition, EWR also worked closely with the Nicklaus design team to develop an innovative golf course drainage system to enhance the playability of the course during periods of high rainfall.
