Project Description
The 5 acre project site, which overlooks the Indian River, was formerly part of a mobile home park. It was purchased by Martin County in connection with the construction of Pineapple Boulevard and is located within the Jenson Beach Community Redevelopment Area. The County selected Renar Fine Homes to build a mixed use, multi-story development that will include restaurants, offices, shops and residential units. Renar has developed a beautiful design concept that maximizes the use of this valuable waterfront property for building construction and parking. To accomodate the design concept and protect the Indian River, which has been designated as an Outstanding Florida Water, a special stormwater collection, storage and treatment system was designed. Stormwater runoff will be collected by gravity flow, passed through treatment baffel boxes and then conveyed to underground storage chambers located under the parking areas. Collected water will percolate through a rock filter bed into the water table. In accordance with County and SFWMD regulations, a portion of the runoff from extreem storm events will discharge to the Indian River, but only after passing through the treatment system.
