Project Description

This project is a multi-family residential development located on 13 acres of scenic land in Hobe Sound. It required well thought out stormwater management and construcion dewatering plans as it is within the Kitching Creek Drainage Basin, which is tributary to the Loxahatchee River. Hydrologic calculations were provided to establish appropriate building finished floor and road elevations and to compensate for several feet of flood plain encroachment.
EWR served as the engineer of record throughout the entire development of this project. Tasks included study and preliminary design to quantify water demands, wastewater flows, drainage rates and flood elevations for the proposed development. Final design tasks included the preparation of construction drawings for onsite water and wastewater utilities, stormwater management, pavement and offsite water, wastewater and reclaimed water transmission lines. EWR also prepared and negotiated permit applications to receive authorizations from Martin County, South Martin Regional Utilities, FDEP and the SFWMD. Periodic construction observation was provided to assess conformance with the project specifications and to prepare final completion certifications.
