Land Development and Water Quality and Treatment ServicesEngineering & Water Resources, Inc. offers a wide range of services to private residential, industrial, recreational and agricultural developers, regulatory agencies, educational institutions, hospitals, water and wastewater utilities, municipalities, special taxing districts, water management districts and federal environmental agencies. To enhance the delivery of these services, we utilize many advanced tools such as: global positioning systems (GPS) for location of features in the field, satellite imagery, aerial photogrammetry, computer-aided design and drafting, surface and groundwater hydrologic models and extensive use of the internet to communicate data, design drawings, reports, correspondence and ideas with clients and project team members. Civil Engineering EWR’s team provides consulting services for many types of projects. Listed below are some of them:

  • Recreational Land Development for golf courses, parks, playgrounds, ball fields, boat ramps, marinas and artificial reefs; including planning, hydrologic analysis, irrigation, surface drainage, underdrains, sidewalks, parking, traffic control, roads, lake and water feature design, water supply, earthwork and grading, pond lining, reclaimed water use and water control structures.
  • Municipal Utilities for potable supply and conveyance, reclaimed water supply, wastewater collection and stormwater management; including gravity and pressure pipelines, canals, well fields, aquifer performance tests, pumping stations, storage tanks, sanitary lift stations, roads, paving, planning, grant application, water quality studies, water control structures, drainage networks, earthen impoundments and erosion control
  • Stormwater Quality and Treatment for urban and agricultural point and non-point sources; including climatic data collection, hydrologic modeling, source evaluation, nutrient runoff potential, soil nutrient status, chemical and biological treatment, pumping plants, conveyances, impoundments, nutrient management planning, best management practices and facilities design

For each type of project, the following services can be provided:

  • Conduct field studies to gather hydrologic, climatic, topographic, water quality and other environmental data
  • Due-diligence investigations prior to property acquisition
  • Analysis of complex environmental and natural resource development issues to develop project concepts, identify goals and constraints and evaluate solution alternatives
  • Calculate capital and operating costs for identified alternatives to compare the feasibility of each one
  • Conduct public workshops to explain project concepts
  • Prepare and negotiate permit applications to obtain project approvals from local, state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications to construct chosen alternatives
  • Assist clients in obtaining bids for required construction services to implement projects
